The contract worth $7.7 million will enable the ministry to produce sprinkler and drip systems inside the country.
“The company has begun implementing the first stage of the contract which includes the manufacture of metal pipes for the system,” the ministry said in a statement.
The production is supervised by the State Company for Mechanical Industries which will shoulder the mass manufacturing of the systems and their shipment to dealers across the country.
The contract will help the company focus on other urgent metal products already in high demand locally.
These include electrical posts which the company says it can now manufacture in huge quantities. (Source)Azaman
